The American Heart Association (AHA) will host their annual Heart Walk on May 14th, 2016 in St. Louis, MO. This event helps raise funds to “save lives from this country’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers – heart disease and stroke.” Shockingly in the United States, 1 in 5 people will develop heart failure, a heart attack will occur every 43 seconds and 6.2 million people will die each year from stroke. AHA is dedicated to fighting these conditions by funding research, advocating for stronger public health policies and identifying resources necessary to save lives.
In support of AHA’s mission “to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke,” team HeartMates will host a fundraising event for the Heart Walk on April 30th, 2016. Our team, representing the Cardiothoracic Surgery Intensive Care Units from Barnes-Jewish Hospital, is partnering with City Park Grill to show our support. City Park Grill has graciously agreed to donate 10% of all profits to the cause. In addition to their donations, the event will include a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, live music and games.
We ask that you join us in the fight against heart disease. Item donations or gift cards for the silent auction and/or a financial donation will help us reach our fundraising goal of $5,000. All donors may be recognized at the event unless otherwise specified by the donor and a tax-exempt letter will be provided. You may also mail donations made payable to the American Heart Association to the address provided below. Your generosity to this important cause is greatly appreciated. We of course, also hope to see you on April 30th at City Park Grill located at 3157 Morgan Ford, St. Louis, MO 63116. Thank you for your consideration.
